Blame Game Update: Ripley's believe it, or not planning

The New Orleans evacuation plan was to send the poor folks a DVD, that said you are on your own, according to Bruce Nolan, Staff writer, New Orleans Times-Picayne, July 24, 2005:
City, state and federal emergency officials are preparing to give the poorest of New Orleans' poor a historically blunt message: In the event of a major hurricane, you're on your own. In scripted appearances being recorded now, officials such as Mayor Ray Nagin, local Red Cross Executive Director Kay Wilkins and City Council President Oliver Thomas drive home the word that the city does not have the resources to move out of harm's way an estimated 134,000 people without transportation.

This is called planning in LA. And, now they are pointing fingers at FEMA for not saving their ass and the lives of thousands. Really! Read it all before you comment.

This is true, but Bush offered not a whit of help, which he could have done independent of Louisiana. Further, he APPROVED of the "hands-off" strategy wherein those who can get the hell out do and those who can't die, including senior citizens who drowned.
