Things You Should Know:

If you own a late model car, build in the late 1990s, or after 2000, you most likely have a recorder under the front seat or under the dash. This recorder monitors the vehicle braking, acceleration, seat belt status, and the g-forces of any crash. This recorder also controls the cars airbag and records the time of activation after initial impact. The data on the recorder belongs to the vehicle owner, according to the federal government, unless the courts or your insurance company asks for it in a legal action. Just thought your should know. More info here.
